Video Games

I love video games. My life has been full of them for as long as I can remember. As a child I played simple DOS-based games on an old Intel 286-computer and in my late teens I started collecting NES, Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 games. Still a little later I added the PlayStation 3 and now 5 to my growing PC and Nintendo collection.

My favourite games

The list of games I really like is too long to limit to a short top three, but here we are. Generally speaking, I enjoy most games that rely heavily on role-playing, a rich story or strategic decision-making.

Demon’s Souls,
Dark Souls & Bloodborne

I’m a SoulsBorne devotee of the first hour. The games’ emphasis on player freedom, deep lore, and challenging but extremely rewarding difficulty drew me in immediately after picking up my PS3 copy of Demon’s Souls.

Divinity: Original Sin 2

In my opinion one of the best co-operative games ever made. Divinity: Original Sin 2 offers a complex turn-based combat system with an inordinate amount of variety and strategical flexibility.

Sid Meier’s Civilization

Just one more turn. Just one. Three hours later, however, I’m still trying to figure out how to stop Gandhi from launching nukes at my capital. My friends and I love a day-long Civilization LAN party.
